Last year also it was the Ombudsman's report of nearly 60k visa's being wasted

If the ASC does not have much applicants waiting for services then they may service your case regardless of the time scheduled. Just make a visit and try.
I had moved to CA and got FP appointment scheduled for 11/15 at NJ. Last saturday I visited my local ASC and explained about my move. They did not bother about the appointment location & time and took fingerprints.

is there anyway USCIS would find out that this person changed jobs within 180 days of 485 filing when he or she applies for H1 transfer? and then that could result in 485 denial?

In order to avail the deal, I need to "move-in" by 05.05.2009. So my lease at the new place will start on 05.05.2009.

IMO you need to fill AR11 only once you vacate your old apartment. If you want file AR11 earlier, you can do it. Since you own(rent) both apartments till 05.16.2009 you can retain your old address till 05.16.2009 and file AR11 before 05.26.2009.
After filing AR11, call USCIS customer service to verify the address change. (Don't misuse infopass for such basic stuff).

$1.5 Billion in income taxes, is the amount the 64,000 new H1bs pay every year and I assume a similar or larger sales tax.
I'm not even thinking of the remaining 500,000+ people in the immigration queue

I got my FP notice and got the FP notice stamped in FEB 2008
The stamp reads

Does this mean that I have security clearance ?

Just wondering how many souls are out there in the country with EB-2 India PD of 2004 and earlier but are not here on IV.
Even with a 1% representation ( assuming that 2004 folks such as us are NOT tired to participate in poll), the total number should be some thing like 8000-9000. 1.5 dependents makes it 20K-25Knumbers.
Also I noticed that a lot of people who voted here has their profile listed as EB-3. Did those guys took the wrong poll or did interfiling?
I feel that OCT EB-2 I & C reversal of DOS was a knee jerk reaction to USCIS's random approvals and we should see a good jump's in next few months.

Previously non-resident Indians and foreigners were either not required to make this contribution or allowed to withdraw it upon leaving India.
My reading is that this has no impact on people who do not work in India. It will reduce net pay for citizens of countries without totalization agreements with India, specially because the EPF contribution in India applies to total gross pay without any upper limit.
To sum it up:

Your wife might have a problem in leaving US with expired I94 , if the immigration officer who is collecting sees that I94 is expired she is subject to 10 year BAN unless she goes CANADA or MEXICO route where they don't collect I94's and to come back in she needs advance parole to be approved receipt may not help .
I left US while under AOS with an expired I-94 and came back with out any problems.

Even if your employer revokes (unlikely as he will have to bear legal expenses on an issue that he cannot win) your 140, it will have no effect. All you have to do is be ready with your new offer letter and maintain the labor wages in your new employment. In previous years desi companies used to reuse the labor by revoking the 140 once an employee quits. Now labor reuse also has been plugged by USCIS. You can peacefully go ahead and change your employment.

I'm planning to go from consulting to Perm. If I don't like it I want to go back to Consulting. Would like to go back to the same employer as anyways my GC process is pending with him. Just trying to find out if I can keep that option open.

Right now I've my H1 valid for 2 more yrs. If I use EAD to switch jobs my H1 will become invalid. Then if I decide to go back to my old employer what happens?Please advice me on this.

In the case of retrogession it is always better to apply EB2 if job description requires Master degree and if the candidate has approved master degree. Past history shows EB2 is atleast 2 years ahead of EB3 for India even if it is moving slower. But if you think any problem in eligiblity then it is better to apply EB3.
One question for I-140 for EB-2 versus EB-3.
If one applies for EB-2 at I-140 stage under premium processing and they turn it down. Does the application automatically go into EB-3, or do they ask you to re-apply for EB-3 at I-140? In that case, I am guessing that the premium processing fees that one has paid for EB-2 goes down the drian, right?
Please confirm your views, as I have heard different versions.

AOS applicants are also entitled to federal student loan once there is a parolee stamp on I-94. My wife recently transferred from a community college to a State University for an undergraduate degree and she just submitted I-485 receipt to get resident tuition. Even this University website has "I-485 Receipt Notice" listed as acceptable document in proof of resident status. I was quite surprised when my application was denied resident status by this other University. I am filing an official complaint with the Department of Justice as advised by my Congressman's office.

Applied at tsc on 2aug card prodn. ordered on 23rd oct. But I have received 3 lud's after that on 485 and 2 on 765, my 140 is still pending at TSC applied on 29 of july.

I took today an Infopass to ask about the status of my I-485 (EB3 ROW, filled in July 2007, PD 12/2005). The IO told me that the case is pre-adjudicated under review and that, since there are no visa numbers available, the case will resume normal processing in October 2009 and that there is no reason to ask about the status anymore until that time. Can anybody explain what "pre-adjudicated under review" means ?

under review - It may once be reviewed fully or partially before requesting for a visa number when available

1. where to file : Here is the catch when filing 485 i am in IL and later moved on to CT. I have updated all addresses etc to CT and everything fine. Since i was in IL for 485 I applied to NSC now i am in CT and here it is VSC for form EAD. So where should i send my application to NSC or VSC?
2. Efile or regular : which is good efile or regular filing. I filing myself and requested attorney's view he said he would prefer normal way as its better and i can see checks cashing and make that a proof of receipt in case of reciept notice lost.
