Is this a true statement from the OP: "But with new Sandy Bridge processors from Intel sporting improved graphics performance"
Improved when compared to the old Intel Integrated Graphics.
then why did apple cripple the 13" macbook pro's with ****** resolution then?
The resolution stayed the same on the 13" Pro. The 13" Air has a higher resolution, but perhaps that's to preserve a selling point. I don't think the Sandy Bridge IGP would have any difficulty driving the 1440x900 display.

People who speed and drive under the influence make me sick. Pull the apps. And when you catch the scum, throw them in jail and take away their licence. The don't deserve to walk among us.
So... you're calling everyone who's ever gone over the speed limit scum that is worth of jail? Chances are good you'd fall into that category as well, even if you only accidentally went 1mph over the speed limit -- breaking the law is breaking the law.

Hmm. Lets see $1M in a week, 52 weeks in a year, yup - that's about $50M. Wow - that dude is a genius!

the MB keyboards are ugly, they remind me of some fool proof keyboard for military laptops. They reek of industrial utilitarianism.
It's starting to get early on the east coast; the apple store is still up, are these bad signs?

They ... are using buffered memory (slow)
Have you seen the benchmarks?
The Xeon systems scream, even with the "slow" memory.
While some contrived tests showed real latency issues with the FB-DIMM memory, for real-life applications the faster busses and large L2 caches make it a non-issue.
Focus on *system* performance, not on a particular detail.

full frame sensor
Adaptive lens mount supports all Canon and Nikon Lenses
60gb removeable 1.8" hard drive
3" OLED screen
Anti-Dust
Anti-shake
Shoots in a new Apple RAW format
eye tracking for focus
Spot metering
1/8000 shutter with 150,000 shutter life
Full weather sealing
Magnesium body
6fps (up to 25 raw frames)
Depth of Field Preview
Pop up flash
802.11 Wifi
GPS built in
Optional Battery Grip
Scrollwheel navigation for menu system
Apple iScreen Digital Image processor
64 Segment Metering and Spot Metering
Supports Compact Flash
You had me up until the magnesium body.
It would have to be made out of aluminium.

Neither will be redesigned next year. Look at the length of time Apple stuck with the previous design. There are still a few years left to this "look."
No offense, but it's rather likely the following revision will launch a refined design. (It's usually done in the fall refresh historically.) This design is rather old and still fashions the old poly carbonite white i-Mac design. Changing the material to unibody aluminum was just a material change that gave it a "newer more modern" look, but it still wasn't a full on redeux. The last major complete redesign was when it went from the iLamp to this form factor.
Though maybe 1 more year.... not quite sure what more than can do with the design except maybe ditch the entire bezzle for 21.5-27" of sexy screen.

Then I'll be right back here complaining about how 8 cores isn't enough either.
I'm with you there. Although I don't do video compression but Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign work, I'm sure Adobe will manage to deliver a version of CS3 that still feels sluggish under 8 cores.

why would you tether to ur phone if u have an iphone?
I don't have an iPhone. I have an Android phone (out of necessity), and syncing is so f'd up that I never do it. So I use the Android phone for phone calls, tethering, and Internet away from Wifi, and my iPod Touch for everything else.
But I refuse to tether my iPod to my phone just so Apple can leave out the two 4GB chips and make the iPod even thinner.

It would have to be really thin, but I like it!
However the real innovation that is going to put Apple over the top is the built-in microfibre wiper blade that squeeges the LCD display after every call. This removes all trace of facial oil and keeps the screen beaming with that showroom shine!
Sorry, I had to sneek that one in.:D

I bought National Treasure and was actually thrilled with the quality. I have the Apple Dock with the Apple Remote, and with National Treasure on my 20" tv in my room, you COULD NOT POSSIBLY tell the diff between a DVD and the download. In fact, I had my friend bring over his copy of National Treasure on DVD, and had them both playing as we flipped back and forth on the tv and you could not tell a difference on my tv.....
Well, it is a SDTV, I have not yet played my download on our HDTV...But DVDs look fine on it, so I'm assuming this will as well.....I am very happy and will definately buy again, just need more titles....

I'm a pretty serious Apple fanatic and I'm willing to scrap my family's iPhones because of this. I know the government can track me anyway by watching my movement across cell towers, but this is a huge affront to privacy.
If you tie this story to the recent news from Michigan that cops there are able to suck the data off of your phone at a traffic stop, then this is really frightening.
If this is your biggest worry on people being able to track you...hmph.
Tinfoil hats are going to be all the rage here soon.

You deserve a bad rap:rolleyes: There is nothing illegal going 5 under.
I don't know about your state, but here in Quebec, it is illegal to ride in the left lane if you're not passing. The left lane is a passing lane. A lot of idiots just roll there, doing the "limit" and then you have to pass them on the right, which is also illegal and dangerous or wait behind them.
The fact that the kid road raged a bit doesn't change the fact of this thread : There are a lot of people who still think "left = fast lane" which is completely wrong. "left = passing lane". If you're not passing, move over to the right.
A little curtesy prevents road rage episodes. On both sides. The OP might not have been right in his behavior, but to say the lady wasn't doing anything illegal is also wrong and shows that you are as a bad a driver as the OP if you fail to recognize it.
The fault doesn't just lie with the OP and everyone defending the lady and bashing the OP is wrong. You should be bashing both equally.

Is that wise? The camera in cellphones is at best a sorry excuse. Introducing a crappy camera at photokina... I don't know
Still I would love to see the iPhone.
Basic iPhoto...not an Aperture camera...anyway just trying to find an excuse for the iPhone....hehe :D

"Awesome?"
*jumps into Windows 7 in Parallels to check it out again*
"Awesome???"
Awesome to those used to sub-par products...
The perfect analogy would be you and your lazy cousin: you pass school every year with excellent grades and get normal Christmas presents since this is your expected performance.
But when your lazy/stupid cousin, who has failed school two or three years in a row, passes with reasonable grades, he gets a Ferrari...get it?

You mean this one, a single card, running FarCry at 3840 X 2160 almost two years ago. Since this was almost two years ago, I'm sure its a little dated. :)

Single card? Do you even know what SLI is? Did you even read the article?
I'm still waiting.

Does a 1333MHz bus matter? (http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=2795&p=6)
Not only is the Anandtech Article one of the better ones, they simulated a 1333 bus speed with the X6800-EE processer, and came up with an overall inprovement of 2.4%, with DivX 6.1 providing a 7.5% boost!
Also, to quote the article:
"If Apple does indeed use a 1333MHz Woodcrest for its new line of Intel based Macs, running Windows it may be the first time that an Apple system will be faster out of the box than an equivalently configured, non-overclocked PC. There's an interesting marketing angle."
WOOHOO!!!
I like Anandtech, they are very fair to all sides and give the facts.
